Businessman Ricardo Salinas Pliego shared a video through social networks where he offered a message regarding the recent takeover by elements of the National Guard on government instructions of the Tangolunda golf course in Huatulco.

In addition, he rejected the statements of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador regarding the payment of taxes by Grupo Salinas.

“The accusations or statements by my friend the president in the sense that Grupo Salinas has stopped paying a very high amount of taxes: it is not true. We pay a lot, I personally pay obscene amounts of taxes: nothing might be more false Grupo Salinas pays and pays a lot,” he said.

On the other hand, he accused the Tax Administration Service (SAT) of extorting businessmen: “They come, they put a huge bill on you and they tell you ‘if you pay me half I will forgive you’, and we do not give in to extortion; for “We do not accept any discounts. We are not going to pay more than what is correct and for no reason are we going to pay double or even triple as this administration intends,” he stated.

In addition to this, the owner of TV Azteca also referred to the issue of the seizure of the Tangolunda golf course in Huatulco, which he described as a tantrum in a factious action to strip him of that space.

“I can play golf on any course in the world, I don’t have to go to Huatulco, the only thing they managed to do was take away a tourist attraction from the town of Huatulco, and therefore reduce the flow of tourists from which all the people of Huatulco live,” said.

Finally, he pointed out that these actions are distracting maneuvers by the government to divert attention from the major problems that the country is experiencing: violence, insecurity, and the fear it generates in the population, and corruption.
