Rhythms of the Past: The Patras Municipality Dance Team’s Timeless Voyage

“Yesterday’s Future” is the title of the two-day dance performances organized on Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 September at 9.00 pm in the closed event hall of the Marouda school complex (formerly SEGAS), by the Dance Department of the Municipality of Patreon.

The two-day event is this year’s Central Dance Event and it is attended by more than 500 young and old dancers, who for two days will present dances and events from all over Greece. Every day 8 regions of the country will be presented.

A great weight will also fall on the dances from Cyprus since this year marks 50 years since the Turkish invasion.

This year’s event will be accompanied by live music from an orchestra with great musicians of our folk tradition under the direction of Nikos Milos.

The orchestra consists of: Nikos Mila violin, Panos Skouteris – clarinet – bagpipes – tsambouna, Angeliki Pardali – singing – santouri, Kostas Stefanopoulos – singing – accordion, Panagiotis Stathakis – lute, Alexandros Rizopoulos – percussion.
