Rhodes Inferno: A Fiery Challenge Without a Battleground

The fire broke out in an agro-forestry area between Pastida and Maritsi very close to houses. To extinguish the fire, 60 firefighters were mobilized with 2 groups of infantry departments. From the air, 3 helicopters and 3 aircraft operated (in addition to the aerial means permanently stationed in Rhodes, reinforcements came from Crete, Samos and Athens).

Hellenic Train: Tourist train routes to Pelion are suspended

As always, volunteers and civil protection forces of the Municipality of Rhodes and the South Aegean Region participated in the firefighting operation. In fact, shortly after the fire broke out, 112 was called, with which the residents of the area were asked to remain on alert.

Minibus services to and from the port of Akadia were also temporarily suspended from the municipality of Rhodes, in order for the vehicles to be available for the immediate transport of additional firefighters to the fire that broke out between Pastidas and Maritsa.
