The RFEF and La Liga have made public their decision to share with viewers the conversation between the VAR referee and his counterpart on the field, during disputed decisions that require video assistance intervention. All those involved in the world are celebrating this decision and hope that it will help to alleviate the climate of tension experienced for several seasons in Spanish football. However, former referee Mateu Lahoz expressed some doubts regarding the methodology used to move the process forward: “We are not prepared for this decision as a football society. Action should have been taken in another way, but this part of management, where strange and rushed things are signed. This is one more example and is left at the horse’s feet to the referees themselves.I explained the referee in ‘Game Time’ on the COPE Network.

This process will be officially usable during Matchday 20 and the Spanish Super Cup, both coinciding with the weekend of January 12 and 13. The RFEF will send the audio as well as the images to La Liga and it will be up to the competition led by Javier Tebas to send everything to the teleoperators for broadcast, once the match is over: “This is news that should have come by now, but not this way. The referees are not prepared, they have not been trained. You will discover what football is like from the inside, I have had the pleasure of doing it in recent years, but I think the form is not adequate. This will open our eyes more so that we can help referees to use VAR better.he then concluded.
