The owner of a purse full of cash brought to Kringwinkel Maasland, the equivalent of Les Petits Riens, in Lanklaar on June 20 is wanted by police following dropping it in a clothes bubble, reports the Newspaper.
All donations collected via the bubbles are first checked in the central warehouse before being redistributed, in order to know if they are still in good condition. On June 20, Michiel Watzeel, an employee at the Kringwinkel, checked an old handbag. “In nine out of ten cases, they are empty. But this bag was filled with banknotes ranging from 50 to 500 euros. I might not believe my eyes. At first I thought it was counterfeit money, but I informed my manager anyway. In the end, it was 22,650 euros. I had never seen so much cash collected”, he testifies.
