ALGIERS – A digital platform for registration in training establishments in the fishing and fish production sector will soon be launched, said Sunday in Algiers, the deputy director of training at the ministry, Mohamed Mounir Guerbi.
In a statement to the press on the sidelines of the Open Days organized at the National Higher Institute of Fisheries and Aquaculture (INSPA) located at the port of Algiers, Mr. Guerbi stressed that “the registration platform in sectoral training establishments, whose launch is planned soon, will allow interested young people to register at the level of the nine training establishments spread across the entire national territory and to follow their files remotely.”
In addition to following the student’s progress from pre-registration to the award of the diploma, being equipped with a remote certification service, the new platform will allow the trainee to broaden their knowledge, thanks to a digital library.
The official also mentioned the launch of training sessions for trainers in the entrepreneurial field in order to mentor students and help them set up their own businesses in the future.
According to Mr. Guerbi, twenty teacher trainers have been trained so far, stressing that spaces dedicated to entrepreneurship and innovation will be opened soon.
For his part, the director of the National Higher Institute of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Mohamed Maazouz, considered that the incentive measures taken by public authorities in recent years had encouraged many young people to turn to training establishments in the sector.
INSPA offers several types of training, including basic training, continuing education, skills development, on-demand training, as well as the organization of the competition for the assessment of acquired professional experience.
The number of pre-registered students in training institutes in the sector this year stands at nearly 6,000 to date, a figure that could reach 10,000 by the end of September.
During this Open Day, explanations were provided to those interested in these training courses in the field of fishing and fishery products. The training vessel “Ben Zaza” was presented to visitors to allow them to visit it and discover its equipment.
