But perhaps not for a very long time. Indeed, as explained BFM TV Monday, May 15, in some convenience stores, curious terminals recently installed could come and relieve the French of their stones, in exchange for a counterpart.
1,200 terminals already deployed in France
Do not expect these machines to distribute coffee, despite their deceptive appearance. These machines do even better: they turn pennies into vouchers, even donations or surprise gifts from the store. “We have seen that we have gained almost 200,000 more users“, details the Coinstar France director with the media. According to him, “this increase is mainly due to the fact that people need to balance their shopping budget at the end of the month to use this money that was sleeping at home“.
An approach that appeals to both convenience store managers and customers. “Winning for customers who have a way to get rid of their change lying around at home and winning for me because it is reinjected directly into my turnover“, says Pascal Errante, director of a Franprix. “It can allow you to make small purchases that you have not planned“, estimates a customer at the microphone of BFMTV. In France, 1,200 terminals are deployed on the territory and 1,000 more should be installed in Parisian grocery stores.
