Before his first “full” season as a Bayern coach, a lot should change!
On the Munich trip to Asia, coach Thomas Tuchel (49) is taking a tougher approach than last season. His first few months were all about getting to know each other and feeling things out. Now Tuchel has reached the second phase of his Bayern time.

FC Bayern: Thomas Tuchel is planning far-reaching changes
The first part of the Tuchel plan at Bayern was to give the team security to stroke them. That worked more badly than well: Bayern became champions at the last minute, but were eliminated early in the DFB Cup and the Champions League.
In the second phase, the trainer is now concerned with introducing and implementing his own ideas. He wants clearer position profiles, less chaos on the field. In his speeches to the players he is demanding. Again and again he inoculates the stars: “We need more control, more possession of the ball. We have to stress the opponent!”

Thomas Tuchel wants a new style of play
But the style of play should change: Bayern want control in areas where they hurt the opponent. Means: less holding the ball on the defensive with the two central defenders. But control further up in midfield – so that Bayern’s opponents always have to be afraid of needle sticks. Tuchel wants more structure and organization.
After the preparation, the coach wants to conduct one-on-one meetings. The goal: everyone should then know where they stand. This conversation could be difficult for Leon Goretzka (28). The midfielder doesn’t want to leave the club. But he realizes that he is currently only a second choice. In the preparation he had to compete with the youngsters and the second guard.
After the bumpy start, Tuchel now wants to implement his ideas and let a new Bayern style play. The Bayern coach no longer makes a secret of who plays a central role on this path and who doesn’t.
