Flowchase is the idea of Zoé Broisson, who, in 2018, following a trip to Australia to teach English to international students, returned to Belgium with the concept of a program capable of analyzing the oral practice of language. As Robin Guérit, a graduate in communication from the same school and co-creator of the tool, recalls: “The idea was innovative, we have a lot of resources for writing, but speaking is very little dealt with in the textbooks of language. Two years of research supported by the Walloon Region and carried out in collaboration with UCLouvain will lead to the development of an AI capable of detecting intonation and pronunciation errors. Flowchase was born and takes the form of a mobile application with a modern design and intuitive handling that UCLouvain will be the first to integrate on a large scale.
