“As soon as the drums start, I start moving, I’m no longer there,” said Mr. Fiori, who gave his compatriots leeway in the cover of his group’s classic. “For the first verse, I wanted them to describe what it means to give a voice to their Nation, it had to mean something,” he explains.

Émile Bilodeau was among the spectators. The singer, who is currently facing criticism for his politicized remarks, considers that the moment and the place were well chosen for this performance.
