GoGoan Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunde said that all the rich Russian tourists who used to come here are now going to Dubai. The tourism minister said in the assembly that the state should be ready to assess the reason behind this change.
“Many rich tourists who used to come to Goa are now in Dubai. They are not coming to Goa now. We must be willing to learn what happened. We must identify the reason why these tourists left here.’- said Rohan Khaunde.
Goa should start thinking regarding its tourism potential beyond the beaches. Emphasis should be on quality rather than quantity of tourists. Kerala is a good example in this regard.
Goa should follow the path of Saudi Arabia which is growing as a top tourism destination. The minister also stated that more tourists will come to Goa following the new airport at Mopa becomes operational.
