Dubai (Etihad)
The Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage in Dubai, in cooperation with the Emirates Library and Information Association, organized a remote lecture entitled “Revealing the Books of Arab and Islamic Heritage by Collecting the Texts of Lost Manuscripts from the Bottoms of Printed Books,” presented by Fahd Ali Al-Maamari, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Library and Information Association and a researcher in folklore.
The lecture aimed to shed light on collecting the texts of the lost manuscript through the pages of books, indexes, and the books of the author himself, who transmits some of his texts in his printed books. Thus, tracking these texts allows researchers and investigators to redraw a new book for a book that was considered lost or lost and added to the Arab library. .
The lecture addressed several topics, most notably: the importance of collecting lost material from the backs of books, the nature of cognitive materials and the authorial content carried out by researchers and investigators, in addition to discussing the approach followed by researchers and investigators in order to revive the lost manuscript, and rearranging it as its author intended, and examples of narrations. For the lost manuscript, which the authors brought in their manuscripts that became printed books, biographical books and their types, some titles whose material was collected from the backs of books and came out as a printed book, and some titles of manuscripts that I extracted from the backs of books and are not mentioned in the indexes of printed manuscripts.
The lecture witnessed great interaction from the attendees, and their discussions were rich through the questions and inquiries that were posed to the lecturer in the platform chat, who in turn responded to them.
