Revitalizing Val-de-Travers Football Fields: Plans for New Synthetic Pitches and Multipurpose Spaces

Val-de-Travers wants to refurbish its football fields. A credit of 70,000 francs was submitted to the General Council on Monday evening, in order to finalize the replacement of the synthetic pitch on the Sugits pitch in Fleurier. 500,000 francs had already been accepted for this purpose last September. This new credit will allow the Municipality to review the surface area this summer.

This credit was accompanied by a report concerning the future of the football infrastructures of Val-de-Travers. The Municipal Council first proposed replacing a little-used field, the EspaceVAL lawn in Couvet, with synthetic. A change planned for the summer of 2025, which would increase weekly playing time for hilly clubs. A refreshment bar might also be built. A credit request might be made this fall to the legislature. “It’s an emblematic place for sport” recalls the new municipal councilor Sarah Fuchs-Rota. “The goal is to be able to revitalize this space, a synthetic would allow many more matches to be hosted. »

Reflections are also continuing to find out how the land of La Léchère in Couvet and that of Lerreux in Fleurier can enter into the equation. A complementary study should make it possible to define which football field should be favored.

Meeting validated for 7th and 8th grades, but…

Another credit was on the legislative table this Monday evening: that of 1,325,000 francs for a project to bring together 7th and 8th year students under the same roof. An amendment from the POP and the PS was approved by the General Council, two different credits were finally put to the vote. The first of 740,000 francs passed the ramp easily. It plans to renovate the attic of building B8 in Fleurier, in order to install four classrooms there. An elevator will also be built to the north of the building.

The second credit of 585,000 was to allow the creation of a multipurpose room in the Longereuse courtyard, under the north wing of the building. This room was to compensate for one of the sewing rooms currently located in B8. But elected legislative officials deemed the project too expensive, not very bright and poorly suited to students. The Municipal Council will therefore have to find another solution.

The last one by Christophe Calame

The sessions of the General Council of Val-de-Travers follow one another and are similar. After the departure of Frédéric Mairy in February, the legislature this time bids farewell to Christophe Calame. The Buttes municipal councilor served for seven years, notably taking over the department of youth and education. His desire to fight for his “big” projects was highlighted, as was his involvement in the Somnanbus of Val-de-Travers. This “locomotive” will be missed by the Vallon executive, according to several speeches heard in the evening. /swe
