Revitalizing the Pacific: Harnessing the Synergy of PAMTH’s Unified Vision

A day after the Prime Minister’s announcements Kyriakou Mitsotakis in Evros and the 19 support measures that were announced, the deputy minister in addition to the Prime Minister Thanasis Kontogeorgisspoke to Regional Growth Conference her Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thracewhich is hosted on Democritus Universityabout the prospects of PAMTH.

Th. Kontogeorgis focused on the objectives of the new interventions that were announced, such as the stimulation of employment and entrepreneurship, but also the provision of incentives for staying and resettling in these areas.

“We have a financial window of opportunity that is closing and we must take advantage of it now. The discussion we are having locally in Evros, in Komotini and elsewhere has the purpose of redistribution, as irrationalities from the past with serious injustices have emerged”, the member of the government emphasized and added: “The country must be ready, there must be an overall plan focused on each area so that we meet the requirements. Our priorities are dealing with the demographic, immigration and climate crisis. We need to explain to the citizens what we are doing to join our effort, this is the core of democratic and fair governance. I remind you that we have launched a platform where citizens can learn about the projects and there we will also integrate the policies”.

Th. Kontogeorgis congratulated the organizers of the Conference, stressing that “the opportunity is given to present thoughts and proposals for each region”, while he also spoke about the catalytic role of the media, as well as the dynamics of the University. “We are in collaboration with Evripides Stylianides for more targeted policies. We do not neglect Alexandroupolis. The challenges of the next day are enormous. We are moving forward with an organized regional plan and with the 19 support measures announced. We want to deal with the demographics, deindustrialization, that our villages do not languish, we want the revitalization of production.”

Finally, Th. Kontogeorgis made a small political comment about the government: “The government’s opponent is the problems. Citizens feel the difference. What is required is action and prioritization. The Prime Minister is a man of knowledge. And he reads and listens to what is happening in each region and then gives directions and solutions.”

The journalist coordinated the discussion Christos N. Konstas (NewMoney.gr, Banks.com.gr, TO XPHMA).
