The second phase of Prince Muhammad bin Salman’s project to develop historical mosques has been launched. This comes 13 centuries following the founding of the Al-Safa Mosque, one of the oldest mosques in the Kingdom. The mosque, located in the Al-Baha region, features construction in the Sarat style. To preserve its historical values, the project aims to restore its aesthetic elements and renew its construction using natural materials such as Sarawat Mountain stones and local wood for ceilings, columns, windows, and doors.
