Revitalization: Bischofshofen is taking action against vacancies in the center

Pongauer Stadt is looking for creative company founders who want to settle in the city centre. There are free consulting services worth over 100,000 euros for the best applicants.

Business premises for rent: Bischofshofen wants to use a competition to attract young company founders to the city.

A city center in which every fourth bar is empty is as attractive as a set of teeth in which every fourth tooth is missing. A management consultant from Pongau gets to the heart of a problem that many communities across the country are struggling with. Bischofshofen is definitely a model student, with eight vacant commercial properties in the town center the city is doing well, says TVB boss Gert Furtmüller. Mayor Hansjörg Obinger (SPÖ) emphasizes that taking action now is a strategic measure.
