Today, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, held a meeting; To review the position and requirements of a number of existing factories and their expansions in Port Said Governorate, in the presence of Major General Hisham Amna, Minister of Local Development, Engineer Ahmed Samir, Minister of Trade and Industry, Major General Adel Al-Ghadban, Governor of Port Said, Dr. Nahed Youssef, Chairman of the General Authority for Industrial Development, and Major General Yasser. The Prime Minister began the meeting by referring to his recent visit to the industrial zone of Port Said Governorate, during which a number of investors submitted requests to establish new expansions of their factories in the region, or requested approvals from a number of government agencies, and therefore this meeting comes to review and discuss these requests. .
In the same context, Dr. Mustafa Madbouly pointed out that the Industrial Development Authority owns an industrial zone on an area of regarding 350 acres in the governorate, pointing out that the governorate’s industrial zone has been fully developed, adding: What concerns us in this regard is the necessity for all industrial zones to operate at the same level. Republic, without regard to its affiliation, and that in light of the presence of requests from investors to expand factories in the governorate, it is possible to annex 100 acres of the area affiliated with the Industrial Development Authority, and annex it to the governorate to satisfy the demands of manufacturers.
In the same context, the Minister of Trade and Industry confirmed that there are no obstacles preventing the Authority’s 100 acres from providing industrial investors and their expansion, indicating that the Ministry is ready to provide any support required for the governorate’s efforts to provide job opportunities through these numerous industrial projects.
During the meeting, the Governor of Port Said reviewed the efforts to develop a number of existing factories in the governorate, including the “Pyramids” tire factory, explaining in this regard the current position of the factory, through a committee that was formed represented by the concerned authorities for this purpose, and that the factory possesses the machines, equipment and testing devices that This qualifies it to produce tires for motorcycles, tricycles, and tuk-tuks, with a quantity of approximately 3.2 million tires annually, representing 90% of the local market currently. He indicated that the factory aims, during its future expansions, to cover the Egyptian market by 100% while exporting the surplus. The governor also spoke regarding the proportion of the industrial component. Al-Masry in the factory, the requirements for new expansions, and the production of private car tires soon.
Major General Adel Al-Ghadban also reviewed the development and expansion position of the “Port Said Star” fish company, which was established in the industrial zone south of Port Said with a proactive view of the future of the sector and the needs of the local and global market, by establishing a tuna fish production line using the latest production methods with continuous and sustainable improvement and development to achieve the highest international quality standards. Noting that a tuna canned production line, a tuna jar production line, a tuna spread production line, as well as tuna smokehouses were established in an expansion vision for tuna production, which necessitated the existence of a complementary industry by establishing a factory to manufacture fish powder, fish oils, and agricultural fertilizers extracted from fish.
The governor said: The current production capacity of the Port Said Star Factory is estimated at 10 million cans of tuna annually, and the facility’s production capabilities are distinguished by their potential for expansion in the event of appropriate support to increase investment capabilities by increasing the number of work periods and increasing production capacity, adding that there is a proposal that it is necessary to study the real production capabilities of the factory and the extent of its coverage. Local market needs and determining the proportions of the local component.
While the Deputy Chairman of the Investment Authority explained that the requests submitted by the owner of the “Pyramids” factory for the production of angel car tires had been approved, indicating that he had already obtained approval and production would begin soon.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Prime Minister directed that the governor prepare the necessary concepts to provide land for the required expansions in accordance with the requests received from the governorate.
