Priced at just under €3,000, the Burgman Street 125EX is a mid-range scooter that doesn’t make waves. Forget the GT spirit, the Burgman Street is intended to be much simpler than its name suggests. He is in reality of Indian manufacture and makes the triplet with the Adress and the Avenis, which are only distinguished from it by different looks and simpler equipment. Less imposing than the Burgmans usually are, regardless of their engine capacity, the Burgman Street is more frail and fairly general, which has the advantage of not attracting too much attention in big cities. The three colors white, gray and matte black are also part of the same movement. On the practical side, the Japanese has two small bins behind the apron (the one on the left closes like a glove box and even has a USB socket to charge a phone) which allow you to take some weight off your pockets, which is always pleasant.
Well-thought-out storage
The trunk under the saddle is given for 21.5 dm³, enough to store rain gear or a small bag, but the compartment is not deep enough for a full-face helmet to fit. Suzuki has still provided an external hook in front of the saddle to hang a helmet, but it will not be secure. The more simplistic side also allows us to keep a contained saddle height, and the announced 780 mm will fit most sizes. If you sit rather high and upright, the floor is wide enough to easily find a comfortable position for your feet. Especially since Suzuki has thought of adults by also offering forward footrests, to extend the legs a little more.

Lightweight
From the first turns of the wheels, The Burgman Street is in any case a delight with its low mass, which only weighs 112 kg on the scale. It is therefore particularly lively in traffic and ultra easy to maneuver (especially with its small 12-inch wheels), especially since the turning radius is really tiny, which is perfect for U-turns. Who says featherweight also says going, and the 8.5 hp single-cylinder does well to advance Indo-Japanese. There is no question of talking regarding excessive performance, but getting out of a somewhat perilous situation is possible. safely up to 70 km/h. Above, the small 124 cm³ is running out of steam and asks to be frankly whipped to deliver the best of himself. To be frank, fast lanes quickly seem intimidating on the handlebars. Especially since at high speed, the small wind screen provides little protection and the contained weight also gives the impression that stability is much less important than on a more imposing Yamaha XMax, whose angle adjustments are more reassuring. We might as well stay in urban and peri-urban areas, therefore, with this Suzuki Burgman we might not be more pragmatic which also has the merit of showing itself really discreet in terms of sound, which is always appreciable with a variator. We notice vibrations when slowing down, but at €2,999 list price, you can’t have everything!
A little firm on large bumps
The Stop and Start delivered as standard is sufficiently alert and discreet so as not to be annoying when the light turns green, as much as it makes waiting at the red light more comfortable, because it is free from noise and vibration. Comfort is not the Burgman Street’s strong point. The fairly dry damping requires you to really pay attention to where you put the wheels, because the roughness of the Parisian cobblestones and the numerous potholes they create quickly make the scooter skip. The whole thing has no nothing unbearable, but we’ve already had softer ones! On the braking side, we can count on a 190 mm disc at the front and a drum at the rear, for correct but not transcendent stopping power.

Finally, the Suzuki justifies its price with complete standard equipment which includes a very readable LCD screen as well as an integrated luggage rack. More modest and less high-end than the big names Honda Forza and Yamaha XMax, the Burgman Street 125EX is also almost half the price of its competitors. Something to think regarding for those who just want a simple and economical way to get around!
