Revenue releases Income Tax 2023 program early

A Secretariat of the Federal Revenue Brazil decided to advance the release of the program used to declare and send the Income Tax 2023 for the day of today. Originally, the software would only be available on the March, 15which is when the deadline for submitting declarations begins.

According to the agency, the idea is to avoid possible congestion in the Federal Revenue system next week and help the taxpayer to plan and gather the necessary documentation. IRPF 2023 (as the software is called), is completely free of course.

The program is available for macOS [PKG], Windows [EXE, 64 bits e 32 bits], Linux [BIN, 64 bits] and for multiple platforms [ZIP]. If you prefer, you can also make the declaration through the application. My Income Taxwhich was already available in both iOS and Android stores and is updated annually (this year’s update has not yet been released, however).

  • It is related to the recovery of the exempt portion of rural activity.
  • It corresponds to profit on the sale of a residential property for the acquisition of another property.

Finally, there is also the option of making the declaration via the web through the e-CAC portal.

the news

  • The pre-filled version of the declaration was expanded and is now able to “import” a greater number of taxpayer information automatically, streamlining the entire declaration process.
  • Anyone who opts for the pre-filled version or chooses to receive the refund via Pix will have priority in payments. Until then, only the elderly, taxpayers with physical/mental disabilities or serious illness and taxpayers whose main income was teaching had priority in refunds.
  • Only taxpayers who sold shares whose sum is greater than R$40,000 are required to declare. Until 2022, any operation to sell shares on the stock exchange was already included in this account.

The deadline for the declarations to be delivered, as stated, will begin on March 15th (next Wednesday) and will run until may 31st, which is also when the first installment of the refund will be paid. The second batch will be paid on the day 30/6while the third in 31/7the room in 31/8 and the fifth in 29/9.
