The company that won the project to extend the TGV high-speed train line linking Kenitra and Marrakech has been revealed.
In this context, international media reported that the French company “Aegis Rail” won the tender contract launched by the National Railway Office, to provide technical support for the management of the project to extend the high-speed train line linking Kenitra and Marrakech.
In this regard, “Aegis”, which supervised the initial studies in 2022, will implement the work specified in the contract in partnership with the French company Systra and the Moroccan office “Novec”, according to what was confirmed by the newspaper “Le Desk”, which indicated that the financial value of the deal amounted to 1.385 billion dirhams.
Spanish media had previously confirmed that the Spanish engineering firm “Eneco” won the contract for 1.309 billion dirhams, as it will manage the project to expand the high-speed train line between Kenitra and Marrakech.
Aegis Rail will support Moroccan competencies to manage large infrastructure projects, as stipulated in the terms of the contract concluded between it and the National Railway Office. This large project also relies primarily on local engineering competencies.
It is worth noting that the project will see the implementation of an infrastructure for a high-speed train linking Kenitra and Marrakech, with a length of 450 kilometers, in order to provide the possibility of operating it at a speed of up to 320 kilometers per hour.
