As part of a study, researchers analyzed what they found on the hands of 66 participants. The results surprise.

The Covid-19 crisis was a disaster in many ways, but it also had a positive outcome: it proved that Wash your hands can massively limit the transmission of viruses and bacteria. Logical advice, because our hands come into contact with all sorts of surfaces (desks, chairs, tables, door handles, etc.). But what would we find on an average person’s hand if we looked at it under a microscope?

ugh? So many don’t use soap when washing their hands

A team of scientists has asked themselves this question and a Study conducted on the topic. The scientists took swab samples from the hands of 45 women and 21 men – one from each hand. The results surprise. 30 percent of the samples were Hair and dust found, saliva in 9 percent of the samples. More than a third of the people interviewed had washed their hands less than an hour before sampling, and yet the scientists found hair and fibers. However, after more than three hours without washing hands, the amount of hair increased by 50 percent.

The most amazing result? Sperm was found in 2 percent of the samples – only on women’s hands, according to the one published in Science & Justice Study. A sperm head was discovered on the hand of a woman between the ages of 18 and 29. She even washed her hands an hour before the swab test. Two more sperm heads were found on the hands of a 40- to 49-year-old woman. However, this participant had not washed her hands two to three hours prior to the swab collection. The results could not confirm whether the sperm heads were present due to recent sexual activity or whether they had been ingested from contaminated surfaces. Both samples also had dirt or stains on the hands.

Easy prevention

The scientists conducted the experiment to determine the background exposure to body fluids on the hands and the effectiveness of the various test measures. Experts strongly advise washing your hands frequently to avoid catching and infecting others. For example after going to the toilet, changing a diaper, before and after handling raw food, before Essen or handling food, after blowing your nose or sneezing, before and after treating a cut, and after touching animals.
