The Salzburg community proved this last Saturday at the tenth edition of the “Cage Fight” competition, which is notorious beyond the country’s borders, in the skate park “The Cage” under the Hellbrunn Bridge in the south of Salzburg. 64 athletes from the U14s to international professionals showed off their tricks at the all-day spectacle. They and around 400 spectators created an extraordinary atmosphere – always peaceful, friendly, frenetic. What was striking: despite competition for a considerable prize money of 4000 euros, there was nothing but recognition for successful tricks, nothing but encouragement for failed attempts.
