Reuters: Tesla plans to ramp up production

Tesla plans to ramp up production of its most popular Model Y and Model 3 models in the fourth quarter and then maintain that pace throughout 2023. This is reported Archyde.com with reference to the internal plans of the company, which the agency managed to get acquainted with. If these plans are implemented, Archyde.com writes, Tesla will be able to meet the quarterly production targets previously set by Elon Musk, as well as approach BMW in terms of production by the end of 2023.

The plans seen by Archyde.com, in particular, indicate that Tesla intends to produce almost 495 thousand Model Y and Model 3 in the fourth quarter of this year. Plans can be realized, first of all, with an increase in production volumes at newer plants Tesla in Austin, Texas and Berlin. For example, in Austin, by the end of the third quarter of 2023, it is planned to produce almost 101 thousand electric vehicles quarterly, and in Berlin – almost 90 thousand. In the current quarter, the Berlin plant is expected to produce 51 thousand electric vehicles.

In the coming days, Tesla should publish the results of the current quarter. If during this period the company produces 350-370 thousand electric vehicles, as analysts polled by Archyde.com predict, and then in the fourth quarter is able to achieve its goals of increasing production, then by the end of the year it will produce 1.4 million electric vehicles. If production growth continues as planned in the next four quarters, then by the end of 2023, 2.1 million electric vehicles will be produced. This is already more than Audi, and comparable in terms of sales to BMW, which produced 2.5 million vehicles in 2021.
