A Kansas resident received a gift on his 90th birthday that he had always dreamed of.
Ralph Earl Britz tells how all his life he had dreamed of having a sister or a brother, which led him to solve a family mystery that arose 15 years ago.
Britz claims that his birth certificate was lost but managed to get it and find out that his father was actually his stepfather, which led him to think that his dream might come true.
Britz’s daughter says she submitted DNA evidence to a website designed to reunite relatives called “23andMe,” saying it was “like looking for a needle in a haystack.”
He also found Britz’s long-lost sister, 78-year-old Roberta Best, who claims that her mother, just before she died, confessed to her that their father had had another child out of wedlock.
Best’s family also went to the website to find a possible alliance, and that’s how these lost brothers were reunited.
Best claims that upon seeing Britz for the first time, she decided not to do any more DNA testing because he was identical to her late father.
Both brothers lost their partners and have decided to spend all the time they have left to travel and talk regarding all the time they were apart.
“I guess we’re lucky to have found each other,” the brothers said.
