Al-Masry stressed, in a statement, on Wednesday, the need for restaurants and tourist establishments to be careful during this period and the importance of adhering to the procedures followed in the preventive and precautionary regard to confronting the Corona virus, and the need to return to the application of using the muzzle throughout the period of presence at work, with the commitment of restaurants to apply all precautionary measures. and preventive measures in this regard.

The head of the Chamber indicated that the data of the Ministry of Health and Population, and the statements of Dr. Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din, the advisor to the President of the Republic for health and prevention affairs, confirmed the presence of some increases in the number of people infected with the Corona virus inside Egypt, as well as the increase in the rates of infections in many European countries, which requires Dealing with this matter by taking preventive measures to prevent the spread of this virus and its mutations.

Al-Masry renewed his call to the members of the General Assembly of the Chamber of Tourism Establishments and Restaurants to adhere to and follow the standards for ensuring the provision of healthy, safe and secure food, which are known as health food safety and security standards, in order to preserve the health and safety of citizens and tourists who frequent these facilities and the reputation of the tourist destination.

The head of the chamber called on all tourist establishments and restaurants to strictly adhere to precautionary measures, and instruct workers to follow health standards for preparing food raw materials before they enter the cooking stage, while following proper methods of preservation following cooking, and before serving it to its patrons, with cleaning and disinfecting equipment and tools used in preparing and cooking. Food and also attention to cleaning and disinfection of water tanks on a regular basis.

Al-Masry stressed the quest and keenness of all members of the Chamber to preserve the health of citizens and its employees, by following all precautionary controls and measures and health and preventive measures, to contribute to preventing the spread of the Corona virus, and also emphasizing the security, safety and health of food provided to the pioneers of restaurants and tourist facilities, in order to preserve The tourist flow and the strengthening of Egypt’s leading position on the global tourism map.

Al-Masry stressed the need to conduct periodic medical analyzes on all workers related to their work with food to ensure that they are free of diseases, as breaching these procedures harms the industry and the reputation of tourism in Egypt, which the state and the tourism sector have made great efforts to return it once more following a long struggle.

He pointed to the need to strictly implement and follow precautionary measures, as well as train workers in tourist facilities and restaurants on these procedures, considering that these matters are among the tourist’s priorities and interests.

He pointed out that the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, in its letter from Mohamed Amer, head of the Central Administration for Hotel and Tourism Establishments and Tourist Activities, confirmed to the Chamber that it will assign control campaigns to suddenly pass all tourist facilities and restaurants to ensure that they follow the precautionary measures and sound health standards. To comply with these procedures, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities will close and suspend the facility’s licenses, as well as suspend the responsible manager.
