The Malian mother and her nonuplets, five girls and four boys, born in Morocco in May 2021, arrived in Bamako on Tuesday in good health, the Minister of Health told AFP.

“Joy and satisfaction to see them in good health. The babies and the mother are doing well and arrived safe and sound in Mali. The state has kept its Alhamdoulilah (thank God) commitments,” Minister Diéminatou Sangaré said in a message sent to AFP.
She had announced their arrival in Bamako a little earlier on her Facebook page with photos of the nine children, including one she was holding in her arms, and of the two parents.
Halima Cissé, a young woman from Timbuktu (north), gave birth in May 2021 to five girls and four boys following being transferred at the end of March 2021 from Bamako to Casablanca, for a follow-up more adapted to the risks of this multiple pregnancy.
The specialists were worried regarding his health and the chances of survival of the fetuses, who were all finally born in good health and were followed up to then in Morocco.
“It’s a first, a source of pride for everyone. Gratitude to the place of the team of Morocco”, underlined Mrs. Sangaré.
