The new managing director of Intersport Austria GmbH comes from within the company, according to a press release from the company. Koll was already with the Wels-based sports retailer group from 2009 to 2016, where he was responsible for sales, purchasing and marketing as managing director. He then took over the management of the garden center chain Bellaflora. Most recently, the business economist ran the business at the tool retailer 3e.
Koll succeeds Thorsten Schmitz, whom the Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Harald Tscherne, thanked for his work over the past eight years. “I am particularly pleased that we have found a new head coach from our team for this important task in the form of Franz Koll,” Tscherne said in a press release. Koll understands the market and the needs of the dealers.
The Intersport Austria Group, with headquarters in Wels, includes 104 Intersport retailers that are represented throughout Austria. A total of 4,000 employees are employed here. Austria also licenses the Markets in Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
