Relaxation of boarding and quarantine requirements for return to Hong Kong from overseas regions and Taiwan:

  • Must hold a negative rapid test result within 24 hours

  • Hong Kong residents who have not completed the vaccination can also board the plane

The “0+3” model arrangement means that travelers are not required to stay in quarantine hotels, and those arriving in Hong Kong can choose to go home or stay in hotels, and undergo medical surveillance 3 days following arriving in Hong Kong. In addition, arriving passengers are required to undergo rapid antigen tests every day until the seventh day, and nucleic acid tests are also required on the 2nd, 4th and 6th days following arrival.

3-Day Medical Surveillance Requirements

Passengers can leave the airport immediately following receiving the nucleic acid test at the airport. They do not need to wait for the test results at the airport, and they can also choose public transport to leave the airport. Those who have obtained a negative nucleic acid test result can receive a 3-day “yellow code” covering the 0th to the second day of arrival in Hong Kong. During the period of holding the “yellow code”, they can go out, but they are subject to the existing “yellow code” restrictions and are not allowed to enter the food court. Restaurants, bars and other listed places. If a passenger obtains a negative nucleic acid test result on the third day following arriving in Hong Kong, he will be issued a “blue code” and can start self-monitoring.

On the morning of the third day of arrival in Hong Kong, following receiving the negative result of the nucleic acid test following the end, the medical surveillance can be terminated, but the passengers must still monitor themselves and continue to perform the rapid antigen test every day until the seventh day. During the self-monitoring period, travelers are required to take nucleic acid tests and rapid antigen tests on time, and with negative results, they can enter listed premises such as restaurants.

Ease of Entry and Ease of Return to Hong Kong
