Leading Ukrainian TV channels in the fourth week of the year.
Media Detector continues to publish Nielsen television measurement panel figures provided by Starlight Media’s research and analytics department. We bring to your attention an overview of the results of viewing Ukrainian TV channels, a list of the most popular programs by general commercial and target audiences, indicators of media groups, viewing data for the Yedyni Novyny marathon, and brief conclusions regarding premieres and trends in television content consumption. TV viewing leaders. The leading six Ukrainian TV channels according to the results of the 4th week of 2024 (January 22–28)
Starlight Media channels continue to hold the top positions among Ukrainian TV channels. Having strengthened its share, the STB channel is in first place (8.57%, an increase of 13 percentage points compared to the previous week), the Novy channel is in second place with a share of 7.02% (an increase of 10 percentage points). ICTV2 occupies the 3rd position with a share of 6.78% (no change).
The next three positions are occupied by the channels of the “1+1 Media” group: on the 4th step – the “2+2” channel (5.00%, a decrease of 14 percentage points), on the 5th place – the “1+” channel 1 Ukraine” with a share of 4.32% (a decrease of 12 percentage points) and in sixth position — TET (3.86%, a decrease of 19 percentage points). The top ten also includes NTN (3.81%, a decrease of 3 percentage points), “Bigudi” (1.86%, an increase of 18 percentage points), “Tvoy Serial” (1.54%, an increase of 20 percentage points) and “Otse” (1.45%, an increase of 8 percentage points).
Indicators of media groups
Starlight Media maintains leadership among media groups. So, last week the company had a share of 25.83% (an increase of 8% compared to the previous week). The second place is occupied by “1+1 Media” with a share of 17.48% (a decrease of 13 percentage points). In third place is the “Inter” group with a share of 6.22% (a decrease of 3 percentage points).
Marathon “Only News”
Since the beginning of the new year, the telethon has had a stable viewership: the cumulative share of the channels that broadcast “The Single Marathon” has remained at the level of 5.73% (an increase of 6 percentage points) by commercial audience aged 18-54 in cities with a population of 50,000 .+ and at the level of 9.43% (a decrease of 2 percentage points) for a wide audience of 18+ 50 thousand+.
Premieres of the week
After the New Year break, the morning show “Morning in the Big City” started airing on only one channel – ICTV2 (rat 0.57% shr% 11.45%, sure 1st place in the slot).
While the premieres of Ukrainian productions are on hiatus, broadcasters have been showing telepremieres of foreign films. The new channel aired two films in late prime: “Books of Blood” (rat 0.79% shr% 5.44%, 2nd place in the slot) and “Wicked” (rat 0.78% shr% 7.25 %, 2nd place in the slot), as well as the cartoon “Pagans” in the morning slot (rat 1.24% shr% 6.67%, 3rd place in the slot). ICTV2 aired horror at midnight Horror Alley (rat 0.83% shr% 7.33%, 2nd in the slot).
“2+2” in the prime showed two films “Infinity” (rat 1.85% shr% 6.40%, 3rd place in the slot) and “Heritage. Cold Blood” (rat 1.84% shr% 5.74%, 3rd place in the slot). The premieres of the films “The Lost City” (rat 1.82% shr% 6.43%, 4th place in the slot) and “Tomb Raider: Lara Croft” (rat 1, 54% shr% 5.29%, 4th in the slot).
Leading programs of the 4th week of television viewing
The leading ten are exclusively products of the StarLight Media group. As last week, three series from STB entered the top five: “The Doctor on Duty” (rat 3.56%, shr 13.56%), “Slid” (rat 3.06%, shr 10.52%) and “Slipa” (rat 2.74%, shr 9.15%). Two more places — for the detective film screening from the New Channel “Sherlock Holmes” (rat 3.07%, shr 9.87%) and “Sherlock Holmes. A game of shadows” (rat 2.88%, shr 11.50%).
The remaining positions in the top ten are occupied by the TV series “Dilnichny z DVRZ” from ICTV2, “Agents of Justice” on STB, “Supergrandmother”, “Diesel Show” and the film “Shanghai Transporter” on Nova.
The ranking is presented based on ratings. The dozen excludes duplication of names, as well as products that lasted less than 15 minutes
Leaders by male audience
The top five leading programs of the week according to the male audience include the humorous series from ICTV2 “Dilnichny z DVRZ” (rat 3.24%, shr 12.62%), a film screening on the New Channel: two parts of modern films regarding Sherlock Holmes: “Sherlock Holmes” (rat 3.17%, shr 10.81%), “Sherlock Holmes. Game of Shadows” (rat 2.81%, shr 11.49%) and action movie “Shanghai Transporter” (rat 2.49%, shr 9.90%). “Diesel Show” closes the list (rat 2.47%, shr 10.08%).
The dozen closes with a film screening: “District 13.” Ultimatum” and “Sniper” from Novy and “The Fifth Element” from “1+1 Ukraine”, as well as two TV series “The Trace” and “The Doctor on Duty”.
Leaders in female audience
The first four positions of the rating according to the female audience are TV series: “The Doctor on Duty” (rat 4.95%, shr 17.28%), “Trace” (rat 4.17%, shr 15.14%), “Agents of Justice” (rat 3.85%, shr 17.01%) and “Slipa” (rat 3.83%, shr 12.00%). As in the previous week, the top five is closed by the reality show “Supergrandmother” (rat 3.39%, shr 9.88%).
The films “Sherlock Holmes”, “Sherlock Holmes. A Game of Shadows”, “2012” and “Monster Mother-in-law” from Novy and the ICTV2 series “District with DVRZ”.
Leaders among youth
The rating of the best products according to the young audience continues to be made up of serial and movie screenings. The TV series “The Doctor on Duty” (rat 3.36%, shr 19.77%), “Dilnychny z DVRZ” (rat 2.32%, shr 13.9%), as well as film-, cartoons from the New Channel: “Sherlock Holmes” (rat 2.85%, shr 17.03%), “Free Willy 3. Rescue” (rat 2.28%, shr 28.09%) and “Thoughts Inside Out” (rat 2.34%, shr 23.00%).
The top ten is closed by the STB TV series “Agents of Justice”, “Trail”, “Blind”, and Novy’s films “Shanghai Transporter” and “Sherlock Holmes. A game of shadows.”
In the fourth week, the list of projects with the best views continues to be dominated by serial screenings. As in the previous week, half of the leading programs by female audience are STB and ICTV2 series; the most views by men are humor on ICTV2, as well as film screenings (6 out of 10 products) on the New Channel; young people continue to watch STB series and foreign cartoons and movies.
