retro handheld console is now available

Blaze Entertainment et Just For Games announced that the new portable console EVERCADE EXP is now available.

Blaze’s new handheld retro game console enhances Evercac’s established cartridge ecosystem, bringing the classic game experience of physical products, full-color manuals and collectibles to life for modern audiences, without breaking the bank on hardware and original software and providing a simple direct play experience.

The Evercade EXP features many improvements compared to the previous version of the Evercade handheld console, including numerous hardware upgrades, as well as a subtle new aesthetic. With the new high-resolution IPS screen, viewing angles are massively improved and resolution has doubled. Built-in WiFi makes updating the console easier than ever. Improved internal specs (more RAM, more memory, and a faster chip) allow the handheld to be on par with the living room variant, the Evercade VS.

But above all, the console offers a brand new fashion game. TATE mode lets you play vertical shooter titles the way they were meant to be. With the push of a button, the selected game rotates 90 degrees clockwise to display in vertical orientation, and the new TATE buttons on the left of the device now control your game .Just hold the console sideways and enjoy great games like 1942, 1943, Mercs and more in the most authentic way possible. There are already 20 games optimized for TATE mode in the entire Evercade game library!

Each Evercade EXP is delivered with IREM Arcade 1 cartridge to start your Evercade cartridge library. With 6 great original arcade games like R-Type, In The Hunt et Moon Patrol, you can jump straight into classic arcade games. This collection comes in a numbered box and includes the game cartridge and a full-color manual.

The 800×480 screen is also covered with a tempered glass cover for a clearer view and solid protection.

In addition to the screen, the EVERCADE EXP has a new TATE (“ta-tee”) mode. The console is designed to be rotated 90 degrees counter-clockwise in order to play vertically oriented games as they were intended. Rather than stretching the screen or having a very small area, TATE mode allows the screen to be used as the original developer intended, making it perfect for arcade shooters and others. The EVERCADE EXP has two buttons on the left side that allow for comfortable playing when using TATE mode. The full set of controller controls have also been expanded to include L2 and R2 trigger controls.

Updating your console is now easier than ever with EVERCADE EXP’s built-in WiFi. Charging is also improved with support for USB-C and the mini-HDMI 720p TV output has been redesigned to help with cable stability.

The EVERCADE EXP is also on par with the specifications of the Evercade VS console. This means the 1.5Ghz processor and 4GB of onboard memory rivals the experience you can get from the stationary home console, but on the go.

The Evercade EXP is compatible with the entire Evercade cartridge library, which includes over 30 collections and over 300 games, including home console, arcade and now home PC games, from over five decades of video game history. All collections are presented in physical cartridge form with a collection box and color manual.
