Retired American Colonel of the US Air Force, Cedric Layton, in an interview with CNN, gives his opinion on the strikes launched by the United States and the United Kingdom once morest multiple Houthi targets in Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen, according to what an American official and a British official told our network.

Layton said, “Al-Hudaydah, the main port in western Yemen, is a very likely target. There are a lot of anti-aircraft and anti-ship missiles present in that area.”

He continued by saying: “With regard to the relevant possibilities of escalation, what might happen here is that the Houthis will first respond to American ships and British ships in the Red Sea.”

“After that, they will likely target facilities in Saudi Arabia,” he added.

Layton stressed that “this might inflame tensions throughout the South Arabian Peninsula at this time. So I think we will see some major activity in the next 24 hours or so,” as he put it.
