An unconscious woman was pulled from the sea on the beach of Rethymno, on the morning of Tuesday, July 16.
An EKAV ambulance rushed to the scene and transported the 60-year-old woman to the Rethymnon Hospital, with the doctors declaring her death.
The Coast Guard in the relevant announcement it issued states:
“In the morning hours today, the Port Authority of Rethymno was informed that a woman, other unknown details, aged regarding 60 years, was retrieved unconscious from the sea area of Rethymno beach. The woman was transported by EKAB ambulance to the General Hospital of Rethymnon, where she was pronounced dead. A preliminary investigation is being carried out by the Port Authority of Rethymno”.
