The alarming report from the controller of places of deprivation of liberty led the new director Philippe Paret to question the support. Hospimedia – In September, you took over the management of the public mental health establishment (EPSM) of Vendée Georges-Mazurelle in La Roche-sur-Yon. How did you take up your position when a psychiatric emergency plan was launched in July by the ARS Pays de la Loire?
Philippe Paret – I had the opportunity to get my bearings from the summer in order to take an initial inventory and respond to the major challenges in a fairly complex context of tensions on the provision of care and human resources (HR), which is true in almost all psychiatric establishments in Pays de la Loire. We have taken up, with the entire Georges-Mazurelle hospital community, the emergency plan launched by the ARS. My first objective was to support adults in the hospital whose caregiver supervision ratios were out of step with their needs. We proposed the creation of twenty-three nursing positions and eight psychologist positions with a territorial coverage throughout the territory.«
