This November 8 is the mid-term elections in the United States, where Americans will elect 435 positions in the House of Representatives. They will also vote for the governorship of 36 of the 50 states of the Union.
These midterm elections dropped certain indications that the Democrats abandoned their ambition to win.
Wes Moore becomes Maryland’s first black governor
Wes Moore became the first black governor in Maryland, defeating Republican state delegate Dan Cox.
Moore will be only the third black American to be elected governor in US history, following Virginia’s Douglas Wilder, who was elected to one term in 1989, and Massachusetts’ Deval Patrick.
Gavin Newson wins California governorship
The current governor of California, Gavin Newson won the re-election and therefore remains with the mandate.

Greg Abott will continue as Governor of Texas
The current governor of Texas, Greg Abott won re-election for governor of Texas where he defeated Beto O’Rourke.
It should be noted that O’Rourke was pro-abortion, issues that according to local media, influenced the voting on this day.
For his part, Abott has been ruling Texas since 2015.

DeSantis Governor of Florida
Republican Ron DeSantis, potential rival to Donald Trump for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination was re-elected governor of Florida on Tuesday, according to the US media.
A rising star of the hard right, DeSantis, 44, unsurprisingly prevailed in this conservative state once morest former Gov. Charlie Crist, a former Republican who had switched parties, according to ABC and CNN.

Sarah Sanders Elected Governor of Arkansas
The former spokesperson for Donald Trump in the White House Sarah Huckabee Sanders was elected governor of the very Republican state of Arkansas on Tuesday, according to projections by the US press.
During the campaign, Sarah Sanders, 40, criticized President Joe Biden and his “radical left” policies especially rampant inflation, “open borders” and “rising violent crime.”
He said he was willing to “join the coalition of strong conservative governors who stand up for our freedom.”

Maura Healey is Governor of Massachusetts
Democrat Maura Healey on Tuesday became the first openly lesbian governor of USA following beating Republican Geoff Diehl, supported by former President Donald Trump, in the state of Massachusetts, according to various media.
Healy, 51, the current Massachusetts attorney general and well-known defender of human rights, won his rival and seized this important governorship from the Democrats, which was in Republican hands.

Phil Scott is Governor of Vermont
Republican Phil Scott is re-elected as Governor of Vermont.
