At the end of June 2022, the consolidated turnover of LafargeHolcim Morocco stood at 4,004 MDH, stagnating compared to the same period in 2021.
Current operating income amounted to 1,464 MDH at the end of June 2022, down 17% compared to the same period in 2021.
This decline is mainly linked to the rise in input prices, particularly fossil fuels, which was only partially passed on to prices.
The net result for the first half of 2022 was also impacted by the increase in the social contribution which reached 176 MDH. In the end, the net result is 759 MDH (-27%).
Return on invested capital was 11.7% in the first half of 2022.
Social account
LafargeHolcim Morocco’s net profit was stopped at 671 MDH as of June 30, 2022.
Perspectives
The cement market fell from the second quarter, mainly due to the repercussions of the international crisis on the Moroccan construction market. In an uncertain environment, a downward trend is likely to persist in the second half. In this context, LafargeHolcim Morocco is continuing its cost optimization efforts while remaining focused on the quality of service and the development of its offer to improve customer satisfaction.
In addition, the sustainable development program initiated this year, which aims in particular to develop the use of green energies (substitute fuels and renewable electricity), will ultimately make it possible to reduce dependence on imported fossil fuels and the volatility of their Classes. To date, more than 80% of LafargeHolcim Morocco’s electricity consumption comes from renewable sources.
