Result of the Vienna Chamber of Agriculture election 2023

The members of the Viennese agriculture have voted and these are the preliminary results.

Vienna (OTS) The provisional election result at a glance: 80.99% Vienna Farmers’ Union (WBB), 15.07% Austrian Working Farmers’ Union Vienna, SPÖ Farmers (SPÖ) and 3.94% Liberal Farmers’ Union Vienna (FPÖ).

1,082 managers of an agricultural business, their family members who work full-time on the business and pensioners with 15 years of membership in the chamber were called on today to elect the members of the general assembly of the Vienna Chamber of Agriculture. The turnout was 56.75% (+2.93%).

This time, the members of the LK Vienna could choose between three parties: List 1 Wiener Bauerbund (WBB), List 2 Österreichischer Arbeitsbauernbund-Vienna, SPÖ-Bauern (SPÖ) and List 3 Freiliche Bauernschaft Wien (FPÖ). Of the 584 valid votes cast, 80.99% went to the Wiener Bauernbund, an increase of 1.30% compared to the previous election in 2018. 15.07% of those entitled to vote gave their vote to the SPÖ farmers, down from 1.83% in 2018. 3.94% of the votes went to the Liberal Peasantry of Vienna (FPÖ).

The distribution of mandates in the Chamber General Assembly for the term of office 2023-2028 remains unchanged and looks as follows: 17 mandates Wiener Bauerbund and 3 mandates SPÖ farmers. The Liberal Peasantry Vienna (FPÖ) did not make it into the General Assembly. According to the Vienna Chamber of Agriculture Act, the city government also sends 3 co-opted chamber councilors to the general assembly of the LK Vienna, analogous to the balance of power in the city government.
