After declaring his candidacy for the 2024 presidential election, Ousmane Sonko puts himself in the shoes of a President by reorganizing the Pastef party. The decision appointing members of the Political Bureau of the African Patriots of Senegal for work, ethics and fraternity (Pastef) was published yesterday by the president of the said party.
One of the most striking appointments remains, in fact, that of Professor Ngouda Mboup. The latter, very present on the media scene, was until now stamped neutral personality but very critical once morest the power in his observations, reflections and analyzes of political news. Ousmane Sonko has decided to bring this academic, “not a member of Pastef” as the act of appointment specifies, to the presidency of the High Regulatory Authority of the party.
The transhumant, Lansana Gagny Sakho, who left the presidential camp for Sonko, is responsible for coordinating and monitoring political programs and monitoring the work of scientific commissions.
Among the vice-presidents with armchair holders, figure Birame Soulèye Diop, one of his close collaborators, until now administrator of Pastef and president of the parliamentary group Yewwi askan wi, which is in charge of the management of the structures and the coordination of the National Council. Madiéye Mbodji is in charge of national policy, Dialo Diop, former leader of the Rnd before merging his party into Pastef, becomes in charge of pan-African and memory issues, while Yassine Fall is in charge of international relations. Her husband, Jacques Habib Sy, is now an adviser to the president of Pastef. Colonel Abdourahim Kébé is responsible for defense and public security issues.
The faithful, who go to the coal when the leader of Pastef is attacked, have obtained strategic positions. El Hadji Malick Ndiaye is National Secretary, in charge of communication. Bassirou Diomaye Faye, appointed Secretary General. Aldiouma Sow was given the post of National Secretary, in charge of strategies and forecasting. The lawyer Me Abdoulaye Tall, great defender of Ousmane Sonko in the televised debates, is spokesperson.
As for Abass Fall, Pastef Dakar coordinator, he will manage the organization and logistics as National Secretary. Electoral operations are entrusted to Babacar Faye with the rank of National Secretary. For the Council of Elders, “Maggi Pastef”, Mayabé Mbaye is appointed coordinator, while the Women’s Movement will be led by Maïmouna Diéye. Daouda Ngom and Ibrahima Thiam respectively become coordinator of the National Movement of Patriotic Executives and coordinator of the Patriotic Youth of Senegal. Pape Mada Ndour is appointed National Secretary in charge of the Diaspora.
Ousmane Sonko also appointed members of his cabinet. Bakary Bathily becomes his Chief of Staff. The young Ousseynou Ly, very present on social networks, is appointed in charge of the image of Ousmane Sonko. Djiby Guéye Ndiaye keeps his position as protocol officer for the leader of Pastef. Khadidja Mahécor Diouf and others are responsible for coordinating, with the president, citizen programs, in particular the promotion of local consumption, blood donations and the Pastef 2s program (sport-health).
However, it was clarified in the document that the appointments took effect as of publication, i.e. yesterday. But also, they are provisional until their approval by the National Council.
