Sebastian Simons (55) is the new head of fleet marketing and sales at Ford in the commercial customer and remarketing business. He succeeds Wilhelm Buchmüller, who will in future be in charge of the company’s sales planning. Both share the previous area of responsibility of Kerstin Glanzmann-Schaar, who retired as director of fleet business at the end of 2022 and whose position will not be filled once more.
Sebastian Simons started his career in the company in 1996 as a trainee at Ford Bank. He worked there for ten years, including in the Fleet Management Service area as a project manager and key account manager and as head of the lending business. He then moved to Ford-Werke GmbH in the Dealer Operations department in several positions, following which he was responsible for Fleet Marketing and Retail Distribution as Manager at Ford Europe. Most recently, the banker and graduate in business administration managed Ford’s rental and remarketing business in Germany.
Simons now reports to Claudia Vogt, director of Ford Pro for the DACH markets. In addition to the commercial vehicle business, she also manages the commercial customer and remarketing business in these three markets and thus takes over the former area of responsibility from Kerstin Glanzmann-Schaar. In his new position as Sales Planning Manager, Wilhelm Buchmüller reports to Dr. Christian Weingärtner, Managing Director for Ford Germany, Austria and Switzerland and Managing Director Marketing and Sales at Ford-Werke GmbH.
