Restoration and nightlife expect to bill 60 million euros

The industry of restoration and the night leisure expect to invoice €60 million during the celebration of Mobile World Congress (MWC)an income that, although it is only half of those achieved in 2019They are waiting impatiently to improve balance sheets that have been hit hard by the two years of the pandemic. The restaurateurs and managers of entertainment venues in Barcelona and its area of ​​influence thus foresee concentrate 25% of the economic impact that the Mobile will have in its edition of this yearwhich will take place from February 28 to March 3and which has been set at regarding €240 million.

The employers’ association Fecasarm (Catalan Federation of Associations of Restoration and Musical Activities) provides that each of the 60,000 attendees that are expected for the MWC spend regarding 1,000 euros in the four days the duration of the event and the weekend before, when many begin to arrive in the city wanting to enjoy it. The 60 million who trust to invoice are half of the 117 million that the sector entered in 2019, the last pre-pandemic year, and in which Mobile reached 107,000 attendees, a record figure.
