Restaurants where you can dine after 10pm this summer

It can be challenging to decide on a place to eat in Poitiers after a movie or when looking for a restaurant open after 10 p.m. to enjoy the summer evenings. According to Hugues Baalouch, the president of the Vienne branch of the Union of Hotel Trades and Industries, “Labor costs are high. After 10 p.m., the establishments become less profitable as the number of customers decreases.” Several restaurant owners in Poitiers were contacted to find out until what time they are willing to serve customers in their dining establishments.

Varying Opening Hours During the Week

Restaurant opening hours often vary depending on the day of the week, with some establishments extending their service hours during the weekends. For example, Manhattan Café on Place Alphonse-Lepetit, Rouge Basilic on Rue de Magenta, and Les Fines Gueules on Place Charles-de-Gaulle accept orders until 10:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, instead of the usual 10 p.m. closing time during the rest of the week. Similarly, L’Oliveto in Poitiers Sud usually closes its kitchen at 9:30 p.m., but extends the closing time to 10:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

At La Serrurerie on Rue des Grandes-Écoles, last orders are taken daily at 10:30 p.m., including on Sundays. Customers can still order appetizers and platters until midnight as the restaurant also functions as a bar. Le Bateau Ivre, near the CHU, also accepts customers until 10:30 p.m. every day except Sundays, operating as a wine cellar and restaurant that requires reservations.

Some Establishments Serve Until 11 p.m.

Some restaurants like 3 Brasseurs in Poitiers Nord and Baïla Pizza de la Demi-Lune have kitchens that close at 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays instead of the usual 10 p.m. closing time. The Rooftop on Rue de la Marne takes orders until 11 p.m. from Thursday to Saturday, with tapas service continuing until midnight.

At 16 Carnot, customers can be served until 10:20 p.m. on weekdays and until 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, albeit with a slightly reduced menu.
