Swiss coach Marcel Kohler, Al-Ahly club’s technical director, gave his team’s players an additional 24 hours of rest before starting preparations for the match once morest Tanzania’s Simba, scheduled for next Friday evening in Dar es Salaam, in the quarter-finals of the African Super League.
Al-Ahly team was scheduled to resume training tomorrow, Saturday, but following Kohler’s decision, the Red Giants will return to training next Sunday evening at Mokhtar El Touch Stadium.
Al-Ahly’s technical staff backed away from the idea of holding friendly matches for the team during the current international break due to the presence of a large number of the team’s players with the national teams, whether for Egyptian or foreign players.
The technical staff, led by Marcel Kohler, also fears that any player might be injured during the friendly matches, so he will be content with daily training following the five-day rest that the team received following defeating Al-Ismaily by three goals to one last Sunday evening in the league.
Al-Ahly is training at the Touch Stadium, and a number of emerging players will be promoted until the strike force is complete with the return of the internationals before the team travels on October 18 to Tanzania to play the Simba match on the 20th of the same month in the first leg of the African Football League quarter-finals.
