Books – Muhammad Shaker:

Bibliothek Egypt issued a statement, which it posted on its official Facebook page, in response to the spread of a video of an Egyptian content creator talking regarding the presence of books with references to homosexuals in the library.

The text of the statement came as follows: We have come to our knowledge that there are some books in English among our children’s books, which contain information and slogans that we reject altogether and do not fit with the culture of our society. One of our valued customers drew our attention to this information, and these books were immediately removed and destroyed. .

The statement added, “Accordingly, the Biblioteca Library management has removed all children’s books to review their content and ensure that they are free of anything that may offend our culture and moral values.”

And the statement continued: Because we believe in appreciating the opinions and suggestions of our dear customers, an e-mail and a hotline have been allocated to receive any suggestions, complaints or to request any books.

An Egyptian content maker had posted a video on the social networking site “Facebook”, talking regarding books containing materials to teach homosexuality that she claimed were being sold in a bookstore in Egypt.

The creator of the content said: “Our children are a great trust from our Lord, and we will ask regarding them. The books are in the Bibliotheque Library in Sheikh Zayed, October 6, and the library worker was not aware of the books’ content, and he was grateful that I had drawn his attention.”
