Riyadh: The Saudi Ministry of Commerce has advised not to write Quranic verses on jewelery and handicrafts. Quoting the speech of the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, the ministry warned that people should be careful not to add Qur’anic inscriptions to any type of jewelery or handicrafts, including gold.

This is to ensure that the Qur’anic verses are not disrespected and misused for purposes other than presentation purposes. The Saudi Chamber of Commerce and Industry has issued a circular in this regard.
