Resignations continue in Bangladesh, Cricket Board president resigns – Sports

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazimul Hasan Popan resigned from his post, after which former cricketer Farooq Ahmed was appointed as the new president.

BCB president Nazimul Hasan Pawan has resigned due to the political situation in Bangladesh, which has been confirmed by the cricket board.

According to Bangladeshi media, Nazim-ul-Hassan Popan was one of the close people of former Prime Minister Hasina Wajid and also held the portfolio of Sports Minister.

On the other hand, former cricketer Farooq Ahmed was elected as the new president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board.

Hasina Wajid’s supporters resign in Bangladesh, Governor of Central Bank and Chancellor of Dhaka University also resigned.

It should be noted that a few days ago Bangladesh Cricket Board officials claimed that Board President Nazmul Hasan has offered to leave his post to cooperate with the Muhammad Younis-led government in order to bring reforms.
