Residents of a private neighborhood in Guernica attacked company workers Edesur they went to cut a clandestine connection in the place. The workers were attacked and detained by the security personnel of the country. After a couple of hours they were finally released by the Police.
According to the electricity supply company, the incident occurred on Thursday followingnoon in the Country Casuarinas Premium, located in Guernica, district of President Perón. The incidents were recorded when the crew of workers was preparing to cut off the service in the neighborhood because it had been confirmed that it was a clandestine connection. However, they were detained by neighbors and security personnel from the private neighborhood in a “violent manner.” The police intervened and freed the Edesur staff.
Likewise, from the company they indicated that the clandestine connection was in a stolen transformer which would not have the characteristics of those installed by the company. And they remembered that It is not the first time that there is a criminal complaint regarding that private neighborhood for energy theft.
“In November 2021, a notary public confirmed the existence of an illegal connection, but already at that time the neighbors prevented the supply from being cut off, which led to the judicial presentation,” Edesur said.
“Power theft not only represents a risk to life, it is also a crime and generates an imbalance in the network that affects all the neighbors of those who commit this irregularity,” said the company.
