On TwitterCapcom has just announced a free update for Resident Evil Village which aims to strengthen the accessibility settings of the game. Its release is planned at the same time as the Gold Edition et le DLC Winter’s Expansion next October 28.
Capcom is also betting on accessibility
Capcom’s proposed update will be available to all players and will add the following options:
- Changing the size, color and background of subtitles.
- In story mode, the name of the character you hear speaking will be specified.
- L’audio description.
- The ability to add a permanent aiming reticle.
The creators of Resident Evil will thus follow the current trend towards openness in video games. If Microsoft is at the forefront in this area – we have seen it with Forza Horizon 5 which has a huge number of accessibility options — others like Ubisoft and Far Cry 6 also show the example on the subject.
The update for Resident Evil Village should therefore allow even more players to try out the latest title to date of the license. Its release is planned as for the DLC on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC this fall.
