Capcom is currently trying hard to keep its eyes on Resident Evil 4 Remake.
Resident Evil 9, or Resident Evil 9 Apocalypse according to leaks, will be the next numbered title in the series that Capcom is currently working on, in addition to bringing RE 4 Remake to PSVR2. This new installment of the franchise had a lot of information leaks some time ago, which made us think that the announcement of the new installment could be quite imminent. However, it looks like none of this will be official until 2024.
Dusk Golem, one of the industry’s biggest geeks, recently said on Twitter that he highly doubts Capcom will announce the new game in 2023, and that it would take until 2024 to see an official announcement, which could be launched during the last quarter of the year. Something that would make a lot of sense, because even though the video game industry is moving at breakneck speed, you have to think that Resident Evil 4 Remake was released only a few months ago and that putting the focus on another installment now there is a strong risk of diverting sales and interest from this title, which is otherwise so highly recommended.
Despite everything, I will now share with you what is currently known about Resident Evil 9 Apocalypse, because if the leaks are true, we would be in the presence of a project as ambitious, if not more, than Resident Evil 8 Village, a game that worked particularly well.

This will be the last game featuring Chris Redfield.
Jill Valentine will have a role similar to that of Ada in Resident Evil 4 Remake.
The Resident Evil 9: Apocalypse story will begin at the end of RE: Village, but with no mention of the continuity of Winters’ lives.
