The hot E3/Summer Game Fest period opens this year with a Sony State of Play which gave pride of place to third-party productions. It was Capcom who opened the show with the long-awaited formalization of the remake of Resident Evil 4.

Leon S. Kennedy is regarding to return to Spain in a completely redesigned version of Resident Evil 4the episode that redefined Capcom’s license when it was released on GameCube in 2005. Announced on PC and our next-gen consoles (PS5, Xbox Series X|S), the game showed itself through a short video introducing us to some characters and various environments. Like Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, the fourth installment in the series will therefore also be entitled to its reimagined version.

It now remains to be seen how far Capcom will go in modifying the software designed by Shinji Mikami. Of course, we imagine that the gameplay will be refreshed, but we don’t know yet what will happen to the main scenario. Will the Japanese giant allow itself big cuts, as was the case with the remake of Resident Evil 3? Or will he start on the Resident Evil 2 model, making sure to keep as many elements as possible from the original work?

Anyway, the first images are promising, and we obviously can’t wait to return to face the Zealots. The new version of Resident Evil 4 is scheduled for March 24, 2023 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It should be noted that a mode dedicated to PSVR2 has been announced, without further information for the moment.
