Resident Evil 2 Remake will only support DX12

Back in March 2022, Capcom announced a new update patch for Resident Evil 2 Remake that will add new ray tracing effects to it. And today, the Japanese company announced that the game will no longer support the DX11 API, which means it will now have higher GPU requirements.

As noted by Capcom, the upcoming update patch will replace DX11 with DX12. Thus, the minimum GPU requirements will now be NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 and AMD Radeon RX 460. Previously, the game used NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 and AMD Radeon R7 260x as the minimum required GPUs.

Ultimately, this means that owners of those two GPUs who already have this game in their library will not be able to play it once the update is released. Hopefully Capcom will allow PC gamers to use the older version (via beta builds). games on Steam).

Capcom has not yet announced when this update will be released.
