Researcher honors Desidério Costa with gold medal won in Romania – Jornal OPaís

Angolan researcher and inventor Hélder Silva honored, yesterday, in Luanda, the former Minister of Petroleum, Desidério Costa, with two diplomas and a gold medal won in Romania, for helping him rise professionally. At the time of the award, Hélder da Silva said that Desidério Costa has been his “right-hand man” over the years and, therefore, decided to pay tribute to him.

In turn, the honoree expressed gratitude for the recognition, having recalled, on the occasion, his journey in Romania, as a student. Hélder Silva was born on September 15, 1969 in the province of Cuanza Sul and graduated in Electrical Engineering in Portugal. He is a representative of the Angolan Association of Inventors and Innovators in Portugal. As a result of his inventions, mainly in the magnetic field, Hélder Silva has more than 30 medals.

Among the distinctions, the gold medals won for the invention of the gas and electricity saving system in boilers and heat accumulators stand out. Desidério Costa is an Angolan politician, who was born on April 4, 1934, in the province of Luanda. He was Minister of Petroleum from 2002 to 2008. Previously he had been deputy minister of the same department, from 1984 to 2002.
